200 Years Commemoration of Frederic Chopin

Jakarta, VOI News, - To commmorate 200th anniversary of the world's composer Frederic Chopin, various events have been held not only in Poland but also in Indonesia. Frederic Chopin is a talented composer who was known by the world community after the era of Mozart. A concerto for piano and orchestra each in E minor and F minor created during the years of 1829-1830 are some of Chopin's works loved by many people in the world.  Polish Ambassador to Indonesia Thomas Lukaszuk in an interview with the Voice Of Indonesia in Jakarta said that through the works of music, Frederic Chopin has introduced Poland to the world.

“Chopin is not only a hero for Poland, but also the world. Chopin has become an inspiration for Poland society and if people hear the music of Poland and Chopin, we have a similar type of music.“

To commemorate Chopin's 200 years anniversary, Polish Embassy in cooperation with the French Cultural Center and the French Embassy in Indonesia on March 1st will hold a series of musical events such as competitions, talk shows, quiz and a three pianist recital concert one of whom is Ary Sutedja, a woman pianist from Indonesia. These activities are not only held in Jakarta but also in several major cities in Indonesia from March to June 2010. Livia-VOI RRI.
