Towards a better life

Looking at some other countries, to some extent, Indonesia has been left behind. Take for example: Malaysia has improved in many aspects. Therefore, Indonesia as the largest and most populated country in South-east Asia must look forward to creating a better life as dignified state–nation. Indonesia which is well-known as well-democratic country must be aware to provide social securities such as accessible  education and health for the poor regardless ethnicity and religion. Whole Indonesian citizens must respect the available laws and orders and human rights. In a legal process, everybody must be submissive to without connecting political motives. Democratic life is similar with freedom. But, there is not any an absolute freedom. Within the freedom, everybody must be compliant to the existing laws. This means that every conduct done by individuals must be controlled by the existing laws and orders. Thus, Indonesia as pluralistic country must optimize the interests of the whole citizens without taking side with any individuals or groups. If any legal process is wrongly carried out, this may trigger potential conflict.
Indonesia has been in era of reform for more than ten years. On the one hand, the democratic process such as the general elections has shown that Indonesia seems to have successfully carried out democratic festivity. On the other hand, during the direct presidential election taking place twice, Indonesia is not able to lead its people towards a better life compared with some nations in South-east Asia. People in general wish to witness the concrete outcome of the democratic process. In other words, successful democratic festivity must bring Indonesian people to a changing life namely prosperity. Therefore, the ruling government must be aware of this condition. In some circumstances, poor sick people hardly get access to hospitals and many school children drop out from their schools because of lacking financial support. Indonesian people dream of having education and health access for all.  So, the government, especially the health and education ministries must be committed to facilitating joint coordination and cooperation in improving such a condition. Indonesia must look forward to a better living condition. (Rhm/RRI/VOI)
