PANCASILA AND 1945 CONSTITUTIONS

Chairman of the People's Consultative Assembly, Zulkifli Hasan, when receiving the visit of the central board of Indonesian Young Da'i Communication Forum and Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB)’s Student Family Cabinet, Monday, May 29, 2017, invited the young generation to really make Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution as the foundation of life in the state. According to Zulkifli Hasan, both are the result of the agreement of the founders of the nation and cannot be negotiated. Pancasila is the foundation of the state, as well as the nation's philosophy to maintain unity. While the 1945 Constitution is the constitution which is the highest legal foundation in Indonesia.

Therefore, any issues still existing at the post of regional election in Indonesia some time ago should be stopped immediately. Because there are still other important agendas to think about. A lot of homework must be done for the betterment of the nation and the state. Therefore, all hostilities must be stopped and the people must mutually respect each other, be united and focusing on building Indonesia.

Many people say that Pancasila is now being threatened, and intolerance begins to grow . Though Pancasila is not born by itself, there is a process of contemplation, dialectics, and previous synthesis. Pancasila is the result of plurality which, according to Aristotle, is a force. The founding fathers of Indonesia set up Pancasila with an open mind rather than with a self-exposed or group mind.

The Indonesian nation must return to its path and uphold the four pillars of nationality, namely Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika to build character. The four pillars can be realized if Indonesian people have mastery in science and technology, and have mutual trust. The importance of the application of Pancasila in the life of the nation and the state must always be reminded to solve various problems of the nation.
