We begin this week’s Sport World with Soccer. Defeating Sriwijaya FC, Persib Wins President Cup 2015.

Persib Bandung won the President Cup 2015 by defeating Sriwijaya FC 2-0 on the final at Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium in Jakarta on Sunday (18/10). Two goals of Persib were created in the first round by Ahmad Jufrianto through free kick. The match intensified in the second round, where Sriwijaya FC temporarily had a chance on the 4th minute. But, TA Mushafry’s shoot went to the left of the goal. Two minutes after that, a dangerous foul against Ilija Spasojevic by Sriwijaya FC occurred in front of the penalty area. Ahmad Jufriyanto as the executor did not let the chance in vain through a hard shoot. Sriwijaya then increased their attack intensity. For several times, Persib’s defense was bothered by Patrich Wanggai and co. Persib had one more goal on minute 39 through Atep’s kick. However, the referee annulled it, because the captain of Persib was offside. Even, Atep received yellow card because of ignoring the offside whistle. The game continued with many hard shootings. On the second game, Sriwijaya FC dominated the game, while Persib strengthened their defense. There was no additional goal on the second round. Persib won 2-0 against Sriwijaya FC and received the wooden trophy of President Cup 2015.


The next is Beach Volley. Putu/Dhita gain gold on Asia Pacific Beach Volley Tournament.

Indonesian women volley team strengthened by Putu Dini Jasita Utami/Dhita Juliana gained gold on Asia Pacific South Sumatera Governor Cup in Palembang,South Sumatra on Saturday. Indonesia 1 team gained the first rank after defeating Kazakhstan team strengthened by Tatyana Mashkova/Bakhtygul Samalikova with 21-15, 10-21, and 15-10 in the final at the Beach Volley Arena of JakabaringSports Center. The victory became even better after Putu Dini was awarded as the best women player with Dmitry Yakovlev from Kazakhstan as the best men. The Beach Volley Department Head of Indonesian Volleyball Association (PBVSI),Slamet Mulyanto said that the victory is important in boosting the confidence of the team that is targeted to join the Olympic and Asian Games 2018.

In the tournament that was joined by 10 countries in the mens’ sector and 6 in the women’s sector, Indonesian team, Dhita Yuliana/Jasita Utami successfully gained gold on the women’s games. Meanwhile the silver was gained by Tatyana Mashkova/Bakhtygul Samalikova and the bronze was by the Chinese team Tang Ningnya/Chen Chunxia after defeating Indonesian 2 team (Ayu Chayaning Siam/Ratnasari Desi). Meanwhile the men’s gold was secured by China through Li Jian/Li Zhuoxin, the silver was given to Kazakhstan Alexey Sidorenko/Dmitry Yakovlev, and the bronze was gained by Australian Court Joshua/Schumann Damien.


Our next sports event is from Athlethics. Kenyan runners dominate Banyuwangi International Run.

Three Kenyan runners dominated Banyuwangi International Run in Banyuwangi, East Java on Saturday (17/10). They are David Mutai who won the 10k run with 32 minutes 6 seconds; Charles Kipsang who won the 5k with 16 minutes 10 seconds; and Edinah Kech who won the Women Competition 10k with 37 minutes 35 seconds.

Besides, some international tourists who were having vacation in Banyuwangi also participated in the first ever competition that was a part of Banyuwangi Festival 2015. Despite being held for the first time, the competition successfully attracted enthusiasm of participants from outside Banyuwangi, including several professional and amateur runners from Surabaya to Jakarta. Meanwhile, the Acting Head of Banyuwangi Cultural and Tourism Agency, Yanuar Bramuda said that the running competition was the implementation of sport-based tourism that is being developed by Banyuwangi, like International Tour de Banyuwangi Ijen, Tabuhan Island Kiteboarding, and Pulau Merah International Surfing Competition. According to Bramuda, running is a trend besides cycling. So, by using the trend, the region’s promotion will be more effective and “soft”. The Banyuwangi International Run was themed “Run & Enjoy the Culture”, illustrating an invitation to run and enjoy the culture and beauty of Banyuwangi.

Indonesian men’s single Sony Dwi Kuncoro won Taiwan Open 2015 after defeating the host in the final. As quoted by the Public Relations and Social Media team of Indonesian Badminton Association PBSI in the press release to ANTARA in Jakarta on Sunday (18/10), Sony in Taipei, Taiwan, had suppressed the opponent since the beginning of the match. Sony became the winner in the men’s single after defeating Wang Tzu Wei in the 42-minute final with 21-13, 21-15. The victory turned the score of Sony vs Wang 1-1. Previously, Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo successfully won the men’s doubles. Marcus/Kevin defeated Malaysian Hoon Thien How/Lim Khim Wah 21-12, 21-8. Meanwhile, Indonesia was only able to reach the second position in Denmark Open Super Series Premier 2015. This was after Tommy Sugiarto gave up from Chen Long in the final held at Odense Sports Park, Sunday evening (18/10), with 12-21 and 12-21 in 45 minutes. Mixed double team Tontowi Ahmad/Liliyana Natsir shared the same fate, being the runner up. Indonesian best mixed double was defeated by Korean Ko Sung Hyun/Kim Ha Na with 22-20, 18-21, and 9-21. This is the fourth time for Tontowi/Liliyana to fail being the first winner in Denmark.


We continue the Sport World with Racing. Indonesian prioritized being the Host of Moto GP 2017.

MotoGP promotor, Dorna said that many countries wanted to be the host of MotoGP season 2015. However, Indonesia is still the first priority for Dorna. This was conveyed by Dorna Sports CEO, Carmelo Ezpelata, during the meeting with Youth and Sports Minister Imam Nahrawi in Jakarta, Wednesday. The meeting was also attended by President Director of Sentul International Circuit Tinton Soeprapto and his son, former national racer, Ananda Mikola. Ezpelata mentioned the five countries that wanted to be the host. They are Kazakhstan, Brazil, Chile, Finland, and Thailand that in the recent 1-2 years was rumored to be the strong candidate. However, Indonesia is still seen as a big market, because MotoGP is really famous in the country. Therefore, Dorna really expected Indonesia to be the host of MotoGP 2017.

Meanwhile, Youth and Sports Minister, Imam Nahrawi expressed gratitude to Dorna because Indonesia gained trust to be the host. Now, the ministry is determined to discuss with related parties as soon as possible, to realize the plan. In the same opportunity, Tinton Suprapto also showed a formal letter on the appointment of Indonesia as the host of MotoGP 2017. The letter will be the foundation of the           Presidential Decree issuance on Indonesia as MotoGP hsot. Several times ago, Minister Imam Nahrawi claimed that they got the approval from the government, in this regard  President Joko Widodo.


The next sports event is Cycling. Subhan Aksa wins Rally Indonesia 2015.

Firna Bosowa Rally Team FBRT mainstay Subhan Aksa/Hade Mboi successfully won Indonesia Rally 2015, held in the Rambong Sialang Estate plantation, Serdang Bedagai regency, North Sumatera on Sunday (18/10). The 2 minute 3 second penalty received in the first day was penetrated by Subhan in the last day. Subhan clocked the best overall time 2 hours 7 minutes 30 seconds. This made Subhan Aksa/Hade Mboi as the national champion again. Meanwhile, East Kalimantan rally racer Ryan Nirwan/Alex Ayal who led at the first day failed finishing the competition after stopped in SS 9 or the last SS. Ryan recorded the best time in SS 8, after the two early SS (SS 6 and 7) was secured by Subhan Aksa. Meanwhile, the SS 9 was owned by North Sumatran rally racer Benny Lautan/Edwin Nasution. Fellow teammate of Subhan, Priamanaya/Herry Koentoyo was in the second position with overall time 2:09:1, while the third position was secured by North Sumatran Dian AP Harahap/Ahmad Syauki Anas.

Surprise happened in GR2 group, where young North Sumatran rally racer, Arji of BJB Bank team ranked the first, defeating many experienced racers. With Uche as the navigator, Arji drove 2.1 class vehicle, with best time 2:26:20 and ranked 7 overall. In the first day, the 17 years old racer was on the second position with overall 1:16:20 – 1 minute 25 seconds late from roby Harahap/Tri Arjuna. The result also showed that Arji is ready to be the future North Sumatran rally racer, continuing the father, Ijeck. The second position of GR2 group was secured by West Javan Muliana 

We end the Sport World with Indonesia ready hosting Recreational SportsOlympiad 2016.

Indonesia is ready to be the host of the recreational sports Olympiad in Jakarta, October 6-12 2016. That was conveyed by Minister, Imam Nahrawi in his opening speech for the 24th The Association For International Sport for All (TAFISA) Congress 2015 in Budapest.

According to Minister Nahrawi, the recreational sports include Indonesian traditional games such as Gobak Sodor, Egrang, Kelereng, Kasti, Hide and Seek, and other semi-sport games. He said, traditional sport is not only to increase people’s health but also an instrument of character development through mental revolution, one of President Joko Widodo’s main programs. In front of 3.000 participant and guests from 73 countries including Hungaria as the host, Minister Nahrawi conveyed Indonesian technical and non-technical preparedness to be the host of TAFISA World Games 2016 in Jakarta. He introduced the event withTarsius when opening the promotional stand in TAFISA Congress area, even Russian delegation said that they are ready with more than 1.000 athletes.

With Indonesian Ambassador for Hungary, Wening Esthyprobo and Head of Indonesian Recreational Sports Federation Hayono Isman, Youth and SportsMinister held a meeting with Gerley Physical Education and Sports Academy of Denmark, Prof. Finn Berggren discussed the cooperation in sports development in Indonesia. TAFISA involved more than 110 countries. Until now 50 countries had confirmed and the number was predicted to increase.
