 Welcome back to Sport World over RRI World Service Voice of Indonesia. For the next 30 minutes, we will present you various national and international sports news and events.

We begin the Sport World with Soccer. Arema Defeats Gresik United 4-1.

Arema Cronus won 4-1 over Gresik United on the first qualification match of Group A Jenderal Sudirman Cup in Kanjuruhan Stadium on Tuesday evening (10/11). The match opened by President Joko Widodo brought different nuance under the shades of FIFA sanction against Indonesian soccer. In the opening match, Arema met the regulation by deploying U-21 player such as Junda and Dio Permana. However, they only played for 13 minutes after Joko Susilo replaced them with Alfarizi and Hendro Siswanto. The replacement brought insignificant effect for Arema. However, their difficulty ended through one goal by Kiko Insa on minute 27.

After the goal, Arema became more aggressive. Cristian Gonzales and friends dominated the game. The second goal of Arema was from the penalty kick. Samsul as the executor successfully shot into the Gresik United’s goal. Arema became even more aggressive, pushing back the Gresik United that played with 10 personnel only. Despite being pushed, Gresik United set a goal on the 82 minute by Rendy Irawan. Afterwards, Samsul scored again on the minute 90. Two minutes later, Samsuk added another goal. Arema won 4-1.

 

The next is from Bridge. Indonesian Team defeats French, the 2015 world champion team.

Indonesian Bridge team made a surprise by successfully defeating the 2015 world champion, France, on the first game in the World Women Elitge Bridge Tournament 2015 in Beijing, China on Monday. Based on the data of their public relations, Indonesian team consists of Lusje Bojoh, Joice Tueje, Suci Amita Dewi, Kristiana Wahyu, Conny Sumampouw, and Rury Andhani. They won 35-31 IMP or after conversed 10.91-9.09 victory point.

According to the Manager of Jakarta Bridge Association, Nella Lahadimu, the achievment of Lusje Bojoh and friends came from a long training during the national level championship. According to her, their performance had faced several problems, but they still won the difficult championship, participated by 8 best teams of 7 countries.

Eight teams from France, US, England, Dutch, Italy; Indonesia and China presented two teams. On the first game, Indonesia met France, the world champion that has defeated US in Chennai, India. Nella Lahadimu expected Indonesia will maintain their performance and win in the prestigious event.

Our next sport event is from Diving. Indonesia gains Gold in Asian Diving Cup.

Indonesian diving team successfully achieved 2 gold medals in Asian Diving Cup in Taiwan, November 3rd-9th. Therefore, they believe they can give more in SEA Games 2017, if diving is contested. Until now, Malaysia does not officially announce the sports competed in the SEA Games. However, Indonesian Subaquatic Sport Association (PB POSSI) will keep lobbying to smoothen their plan, for instance by winning medals in the Asian Diving Cup through Dandandra Indra Damario in the junior category and other in the senior category.

General Secretary of Indonesian Subaquatic Sport Association Merari Nainggolan said in Jakartaon Wednesday (11/11) that becoming the Asian big three in the junior category indicates that the training and guidance in the association are on the right track. This achievement also made the association confident to win the lobby. In the early December, representatives of the POSSI will meet Malaysian Sports Minister and Malaysian SEA Games committee chairman.

Indonesia prepares 45 athletes to participate in the Junior, Cadet, and U-21 2015 Karate WorldChampionship on November 12-15 at Indonesian Convention Exhibition (ICE), Bumi Serpong Damai, South Tangerang, Banten. Currently, according to the public relation of Indonesian Karate-Do Federation (FORKI), the athletes are undergoing the national training camp under a French trainer Tareq, in Ciloto, Puncak. They will be observed until the end of the championship, and the best ones will be trained to face SEA Games 2017 and Asian Games 2018.

The biannual world championship was opened by President Joko Widodo and participated by karate athletes from 91 coutries. In the international karate event held by World Karate Federation and FORKI, the categories opened are cadet (15-16 years old), junior (17-18), and under 21. Also, there are 35 classes.

 

the next sport event is Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI) sends delegation to Brazil.

Indonesian Olympic Committe (KOI) will send delegation to Brazil in checking the facility and infrastructure preparation for the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic. Vice Chairman of KOI Muddai Madang in Jakarta, Monday (9/11) said, besides the facility and infrastructure, the team will also check the transportation and accomodation to use for Indonesian team. According to him, the movement is necessary to avoid problems.

On 2016 Olympic, Indonesia plans to deploy athletes from 12 sport games. However, only three have been confirmed to go to Brazil, they are Maria Londa from athletics and two archery athletes, Ika Yuliana and Riau Ega. In the meantime, several others are still under qualification such as badminton, weightlifting, and cyclcing. Muddai added, besides sending delegation to Brazil, another important agenda is preparation for a meeting with the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) in Kuwait, November 15.

 

Our next sports event is from Badminton. Indonesia Runner-up in World Championship.

Indonesian team ranked second after defeated by China 0-3 in the final of World Junior Championships 2015 in Lima, Peru, Sunday (8/11). In the final, Firman Abdul Kholik and friends were really inferior compared to the opponents. Three early matches were ended in two games. The mixed doubles Marsheilla Gischa Islami/Andika Ramadiansyah failed to support the team, after defeated from Chinese team, Chen Qingchen/Zheng Siwei, 10-21 and 14-21. In the second match, men’s single Panji Ahmad Maulana could not keep up against Lin Guipu from China with 11-21 and 16-21.  Indonesia’s fate was locked in the third match of men’s doubles. Andika Ramadiansyah/Rinov Rivaldy were defeated by Chinese doubles He Jiting/Zheng Siwei, 13-21 and 10-21.
