Lesung Bay, Banten

If you visit Banten, the first in mind is Anyer beach or Ujung Kulon National Park. Actually, besides the two tourism objects, Banten has also another beautiful natural tourism object, namely Lesung bay. The beach is located on the West End of Java island, precisely at Tanjung Jaya village, Panimbang sub-district, Pandeglang regency in Banten province. 

Lesung bay is taken from the name location of the beach. The form land of the beach jolts into the sea which looks like end of mortar. Lesung is traditional tool to pound rice. This beach is quite well-known among Banten and Jakarta people.

The white sand which is combined with trees at the beach is beautiful panorama which can be enjoyed after releasing tiredness from daily activities. You can do various beach activities such as playing sand or volleyball along15-km coastline which is quite flat and the waves are not too strong.

If you want to enjoy marine tour at Tanjung Lesung such diving or snorkeling, you can rent the equipment at the beach. Besides, the beach also provides banana boat and jet ski. If tourists have fishing hobby, there are also facilities for fishing.

Because Tanjung Lesung beach does not directly face to the sea, it causes the waves are not too big and wind is not too strong, so that the beach is the best location for fishing. From the beach, tourists can visit location of coral reef conservation on Liwungan island by using fisherman’s boat or speedboat. It takes around 30 minutes.

Going to Tanjung Lesung beach from Jakarta can be accessed through Tanggerang-Merak toll and then out at East Serang toll. After that, it continues the trip to Pandeglang and Labuan city until Tanjung Lesung beach.

If you use public transportation, you can use bus to Labuan terminal which is continued by using motorcycle taxi or taxi to the beach. You must pay the entrance ticket Rp 25.000 for weekdays and Rp 40.000 for weekends. The facilities at the beach are quite complete starting from Hotel, Resort, until villa.
