PLN signs contracts for 16 power generating projects

The state electric company PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) has signed contracts for 16 projects with a total generating capacity of 1,825.5 megawatts . The projects are part of the government program to build new power plants with a total capacity of 35,000 MW until 2019 . The projects are valued at Rp21.1 trillion, PLN chief executive Sofyan Basir said at the signing ceremony on Friday.  Sofyan said the projects use the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) scheme , adding it would include development of 500 KV transmission systems along the northern part of Java 928 kilometer long  . The projects are design to cope with shortage in power supply in certain areas in the country and to replace old and inefficient power plants fueled with oil . The projects would increase the electrification ratio in certain backward areas and to increase power supply in frontier areas and outer islands   //    Voi.Ant

 

President distributes KIP, KIS in Sambas 

----   Indonesian President Joko Widodo distributed Indonesia Smart Cards (KIP) and Indonesia Health Cards (KIS) to the communities residing in the Indonesia-Malaysia border area in Sambas District, West Kalimantan, on Friday . The KIP will guarantee and ensure that all school-aged children from disadvantaged families receive financial assistance for education until the completion of high school or vocational school . The KIS will guarantee and ensure that all people from the disadvantaged sections of community will receive adequate health services . On the occasion, the president also distributed food supplements (PMT) and launched the Family Hope Program (PKH) . In addition to distributing KIP, KIS, PMT, and PKH, the head of state opened the Integrated Border Crossing Post in Aruk, bordering Malaysia   //Ant
