Indonesian Air Force to install another radar in W. Kalimantan

Air Force Chief of Staff Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto saidthat the Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU) will install one more radar in Singkawang, West Kalimantan province, to strengthen state defense in border areas . He remarked that one of the 12 radars they will procure will be installed in Singkawang . He further said TNI AU will procure 12 more radars this year. It currently has 20 radars across the country . In addition, the Air Force also plans to F-5 fighter jets, which have almost stopped operating in the past one year. In its work plan for 2015-2019, TNI AU plans to increase the number its radars and support combat fleet by replacing F-5 fighter jets and buying helicopters for the purpose of transportation and search and rescue (SAR) .In his first working visit to West Kalimantan, particularly the Supadio Airbase Command Station, Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto also checked the airbases military armament system . He said TNI AU will always tighten security in the countrys borders to prevent any attempt to disrupt national integrity////JP

Indonesian Student Association in Russia Successfully Holds Simultaneous Social Action in Seven Cities in Russia

Indonesian Student Association in Russia (PERMIRA) has succeeded in holding simultaneous social actions in seven cities in Russia namely Irkutsk, Vladivostok, Kazan, Moscow, Arkhangelskm, Rostov, and Saint Petersburg for a week, starting from March 8 to March 13, 2017. According to chairman of the social activity organizer, Azmi Muharrom, recently, in Saint Petersburg, the social action was aimed at promoting Indonesia’s identity as a friendly country.

“This social action was to promote Indonesia’s identity as a friendly country. The action was based on our circumstances as international students abroad who are quite busy with our studies and sometimes forget to look at the orphan children, elderly people or homeless around us. Therefore we are committed to holding simultaneous social action,” he said.

Azmi Muharrom added that this social action was the first and the biggest ever been organized by Indonesian students in Russia. This action was held by giving assistances such as clothing, toiletries, funds, and other assistances to social agency in seven cities in Russia // Rezha/Trs:Dhyka


Indonesian general elections bill to be finalized in April: House

---- The bill on general elections will be finalized before the deadline in late April, 2017, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR) Fadli Zon declared . He acknowledged that factions in the House still had differences of opinion on several points in the bill .  Fadli Zon, who is from the Gerindra Party, mentioned that the various House factions had differing opinions on the election system, parliamentary threshold and presidential threshold . Regarding the parliamentary threshold, Zon stated his party would not question how much, but the ideal threshold was about 3.5 percent    //JP


New president director expected to optimize Pertamina`s teamwork

----- The newly appointed President Director of PT Pertamina, Elia Massa Manik, is expected to optimize teamwork at the state-owned oil and gas company.Recently, State-owned Enterprises Minister Rini Soemarno had picked Elia as president director of Pertamina to replace Dwi Soetjipto, who was discharged on February 3 . Elia had earlier held the post of president director of state-owned plantation holding company PT Perkebunan Nusantara (PTPN) III . Pertamina Chief Commissioner Tanri Abeng said that  by improving communication, Elia would be able to manage Pertamina and face various challenges, no matter how difficult they are . Even, senior minister Luhut Binsar Panjaitan praised Elia as a restructuring expert. Moreover, the new president director of PT Pertamina has expressed his commitment to strengthening human resources at the state-owned oil and gas firm, so that it becomes more productive . He noted that many agendas are yet to be carried out as part of the governments program to realize energy sovereignty   //    Voi.JP


Industry must improve society`s welfare: Rini Soemarno

---- Minister of State-owned Enterprises (BUMN) Rini M. Soemarno asserted during her visit to PT Semen Indonesia in Rembang district, Central Java province on Friday that the presence of industry, in particular state-owned enterprises has to have a positive impact on improving societys welfare and economy . She was accompanied by the President Director of PT Semen Indonesia, Rizkan Chandra, during a meeting with community figures of the region . Other officials of state-owned enterprises, namely the President Director of Bank Mandiri Kartika Wirjoatmodjo and President  Director  of  Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI), Achmad Baiquni, also attended the meeting . She also reiterated her commitment that the presence of BUMN should be able to improve the communitys economy . In addition, she encouraged residents living in five villages in the areas of ring I of PT Semen Indonesia in Rembang district to enter partnerships with other state-owned enterprises, such as with regional branch of the State Logistics Agency, which would require support from village heads   //////JP



Gempol-Pasuruan in E. Java toll road to be operational in March

---- Koentjahjo Pamboedi, a member of the Toll Road Regulator Agency (BPJI) and chairman of the Gempol-Pasuruan toll road assessment team, said in Jakarta, Friday  that the 7.1-kilometer (km) segment A2 (Bangli-Rembang) of Gempol-Pasuruan toll road project in East Java is expected to be operational by the end of this March . He remarked that to achieve the target, a joint team of the BPJT of the Public Works and Public Housing Ministry, the Land Directorate General and the National Police (Polri) is conducting an assessment of the toll road worthiness . Pamboedi said the Gempol-Pasuruan toll road includes three segments; section 1: Gempol-Rembang covering 13.9km, which is divided into two work packages, namely, package A1 Gempol-Bangil (6.8km) and package A2 Bengil-Rembang (7.1km); section 2: Rembang-Pasuruan (6.6km); and section 3: Pasuruan-Grati (12.15km)   ////JP
