District administrations allowed to establish village company

The government of Indonesia allows district administrations to establish company owned by villages that could increase their income. Head of the Rural Community Empowerment and Rural Administration of the district of Badung, Putu Gede Sridana said the establishment of village companies is regulated in the regulation of the Minister for Villages, Development of Backward Areas and Transmigration No. 4/2015.  He said the type of business of the company depends on the potentials of the village areas. He cited that a village could establish a company to produce bottled drinking water if it has potential clean and drinking water resources. He said the government would be ready to provide training in the management of the companies. He added that they will encourage that every village has a village company to be run by trained people, adding the government would provide financial aid if the business is potential.(Antara)

 

Marina project in Labuan Bajo to cost Rp300 billion

Tourism Minister, Arief Yahya said that the construction of Marina port for tourist boats in Labuan Bajo, Flores, East Nusa Tenggara –NTT would need Rp300 billion. He stated that the port would facilitate growing number of international tourist boats visiting the area. Minister Arief Yahya attended a meeting to strengthen tourism cooperation between the East Nusa Tenggara provincial administration and a US operator of international tourist boats, Carnival. The meeting took place on board the Pacific Eden that landed on the Benoa port, Bali on Thursday. Those also attended the meeting were Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Transport Minister, Budi Karya Sumadi and East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Governor, Frans Lebu Raya. Minister Arief said that the budget for Marina project in Labuan Bajo, which is one of the country’s 10 priority destinations would include fund from the state budget and the private sector.  (Antara)
