President Encourages Youth to Work Together for Indonesia

President Joko Widodo called on all citizens to stop accusing, insulting, slandering and protesting against each other. The Indonesian people have to work together to develop the country. It was said by President Joko Widodo in his remarks during the opening of the 19th Indonesian Islamic Students Movement (PMII) Congress at Darussalam Grand Mosque in Palu, Central Sulawesi, on Tuesday (16/5). The President said the world is changing fast and Indonesia must follow that development through positive and fruitful work for the development of the country. The President expressed hope that PMII as one of the components of the nation could be part of the solution to the various problems of the nation.

“We must continue to follow the changes if we do not want to be left behind by other nations. Students are the elite strata in all countries, especially Indonesia. Therefore the students especially PMII Indonesian Islamic Student Movement must be part of the solution of this nation,” said President Joko Widodo.

On the same occasion Chairman of the Executive Board of PMII, Aminuddin Ma'ruf invited the younger generation of PMII members to continue to work to develop the nation. He said PMII does not want a failed generation, intellectual unemployment and a generation that is burdening the country. The 19th Congress of PMII is scheduled to last until May 19. Minister Says Internet Data Plans Must be Affordable, Sustainable

Communication and Informatics Minister Rudiantara said the factors of affordability of the consumer and the sustainability of the operator for the internet data tariff plan must be balanced. He issued the statement because the government must maintain the condition of consumers and the industry. Rudiantara said on Tuesday (16/5) that the government regulates the balance of sustainability and affordability. According to the minister, the industry must understand the concern of the consumers which is the affordable internet data tariff. The options of the tariff and product services for the consumers are also important so the provider will consider providing the efficient services as well as be in a healthy and rational competition. He also reminds the telecommunication operators to think about the long-term sustainability in determining their internet data rates. Minister Rudiantara views that margin plays an important role to the sustainability of the telecommunication operators. (tempo)
