Tourism Minister Arief Yahya: Hotels give emergency discounts regarding Mt. Agung

A number of hotels in Bali are ready to give discounts for tourists as one of scenarios if Mt. Agung erupts that will bring about impact on airport closure. This was stated by Minister of Tourism, Arief Yahya in Denpasar, Bali on Wednesday (11/10). He asked the hoteliers to give a minimum of 50 percent discount for tourists with the scenario that the tourists are on holidays in Bali when an eruption occurs. He added that some of hoteliers are even ready to give 75 up to 100 percent of discount with the scenario is to provide a discount of 100 percent on the first day, then 80 percent to the amount of decrease in the next days. Minister Arief Yahya also remarked that the discount is given until the tourists can be taken to neighboring province of Bali to continue the journey through the nearest airport that is not affected by the eruption. The Minister added that the discount is provided for foreign and domestic tourists. (Ant)

 

Indonesia ready to become a supplier of resources to global business agents

In a press statement released on Wednesday, Trade Minister Engartiasto Lukita is sure that Indonesia is ready to become a supplier of resources to global business agents in a sustainable manner. The Minister said that the main focus of the 32nd Trade Expo Indonesia -TEI held at Nusantara Hall Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) in Tangerang, Banten on Wednesday (11/10) is the long-term and international-scale business-to-business transactions. The ultimate goal of TEI is to increase Indonesia’s exports. The Trade Ministry expects at least 33 trade contracts to be signed during the five-day expo. The countries that will send business missions to the expo include Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Egypt, Australia, Thailand, India, Brazil, Britain, and the United States. The Trade Ministry expects the value of trade contracts signed in the expo to reach $223.23 million dollars. (Ant)
