Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono instructed regional government heads to pay attention to rice production in an effort to increase the resilience of the nation's national food supply.

 

The National Commission on Human Rights (Komnas HAM) said the government has failed to manage national food production and distribution in accordance with its obligation to fulfill the people's basic right to food.

Former Indonesian vice president Jusuf Kalla said state-owned companies (BUMN) have now become the country's development locomotives again.

 

Indonesian Finance Minister Agus Martowardojo said the government may revise downward its tax receipt forecast in the draft revised state budget to be proposed to the House of Representatives (DPR).
