Waldjinah - Meratap Hati

Waldjinah, a woman who was born in Solo, Central Java is known as the Queen of Kroncong. Her career in music went up after she became the first winner of Indonesia Radio Star in 1965. Waldjinah launched a compilation  album with another singer, the album Elingo Beboyo Margo (1968) sang together with Enny Koesrini (winner of Indonesia Radio Star 1967) and Sri Rahadjeng.  Many of her album were made with Surakarta keroncong orchestra that she led.

This song also tells about the parting lovers. The lover went faraway  without word. Although love is not reciprocated, but hopes to meet always there. Besides the singer Didi Kempot, Waldjinah also well known in the Suriname country and was awarded the "Life Achievement Award" for her contributions and consistency in the flow of keroncong in Suriname musical grace 2012. Previously, in 2002 Waldjinah also receive an Art Award from musical foundation of Hanjaringrat, in Solo, along with Gesang and other artists.// Walang Kekek and Jangkrik Genggong songs catapulted her name in Indonesian music industry. Waldjinah often sang Gesang, Andjar Any and Ismail Marzuki songs.
