Jakarta to Host ConBuild 2011

Jakarta will be the venue for International Trade Fair for Construction and Building (Conbuild) scheduled to be held on May, 2011. Managing Director and CEO Asia Pacific Messe München International, Ronald Unterburger in a special interview with the Voice Of Indonesia  said, Jakarta was  chosen to host the international trade fair because the capital has a secured and better  facilities  for such trade. More details about International Trade Fair Construction and Building (ConBuild) 2011, let’s follow a special interview of our reporter Mungky Diana Sari with Mr.  Ronald Unterburger

Mungky: Could you tell me a little bit of ConBuild that will be taking place in Jakarta 2011

Ronald   :  ConBuild is the part of the infrastructure initiative we intense to launch in Indonesia, which we have already launched  in a number of countries, which in ASEAN countries we had done in Vietnam, in CounBuild also have launching in Vietnam, so it’s a proven record, and now we think it's right time to Indonesia, so we launch this, and should be held in 2011. The infrastructure initiative does not only comprise on ConBuild, but also comprise other elements, which are the transport technologies, logistic elements, as well as the environment, the energy and the linguistic part.

Mungky :  Is the ConBuild part of the Bauma? So why ConBuild choose Indonesia as the Trade Fair in 2011? Why choose Jakarta?

Ronald   : We believe Jakarta has the best facilities for platform like this, but this is mainly because Jakarta is the economic capital, and the capital of political cities, so they can be support from the authorities, which need it. When you have infrastructure related event, but at the same time people can come here easily, you have an international airport here, and you have also local flight from all part of Indonesia, but we intend to promote the infrastructure initiative, as well as ConBuild from west to the east, from Sumatera to Papua New Guinea.

Mungky : But what is your opinion about the Indonesian market, especially for machinery and building?

Ronald   : Well, I see the Indonesian market is very strong. Not only for this part, and I think a lot of our international customers have trust  and they have been waiting for more stability in your country, for more stability of your country, which we can observe now ready since in the few years now you have the new government in place. And everybody is ready to come back in to do even more business here to do already in the past. Especially in mining, but not to forget other infrastructure project like, road constructions, also road leading agriculture area, and so on. I mean this is information, we got from our customers who already in those markets, how we got encourage, to put this approach, to put this elements ConBuild and the infrastructure initiative to Indonesia.

Mungky  :   Who is the target of the visitors?

Ronald     : Well, it depends of the amount, of the exhibitors. It depends on amount, but we are more confident here in Indonesia, than for example for the Vietnam. We believe that Indonesia is the biggest market of the all ASEAN countries. And could even have a greatest start, and then we both aim also for more visitors.

Mungky  : And with regard to the exhibitors, where are there from ?  Asia or other countries, from Europe and US?

Ronald     : Definitely Asia will play the big part. Because a lot of products now come from Asia and a lot of our clients from Japan, from Korea from China, so we have also Chinese and Korean Co-organized by. But we definitely have a lot of exhibitors from Europe, from Germanys, specially from Italy, Spanish one of the countries, England one of the countries. And we will also have the American to take part in it.

Mungky  : How many exhibitors do you expect to participate in the ConBuild in Indonesia?

Ronald     : When you start show for the first time, it’s little bit difficult to say, but I can tell you in Vietnam, which is one of the neighbor countries, but the market is much smaller but also very promising, you start right of out of way is two hundreds exhibitors. So we are confidence as far as Indonesia is concern. So we do expect more but I do not want to say a number right now.

Mungky  : I'm just wondering, is the Bauma part of the Government (of German) agencies?

Ronald     :  Bauma is an exhibition in Germany which has existed in long time about 30 years, and which is partly on by the German Manufactures Association, the VDMA. It is not owned by the government, it is owned by the industries. Bauma is the largest International Trade Fair for Construction Machinery, Building Material Machines, Mining Machines, Construction Vehicles and Construction Equipment in the world. It has been holding since 1954 in German, but in 2008 it held in China. In the near future Bauma will hold the exhibition on April 2010 in Munich, German. Conbuild is the part of the Bauma itself, but Conbuild is smaller than Bauma. ConBuild Fair not only shown of Construction but also building. And Conbuild, has the first Fair in Hanoi, Vietnam on December 2009. VDMA is The German Engineering Federation. VDMA is located in Frankfurt, Germany. VDMA offers 100 years of experience in the machinery, plant manufacturing industry and the information technology sector. The German Engineering Federation has more than 3,000 members divided into 39 specific branch Associations and is the largest network of the engineering industry in Europe. (mungky / VOI LPP RRI)
